STEP 1. Confirmation after receipt
Before opening, check the label on the black PCB packaging to verify the arrangement and options (60 / 80 , HE / MX , 6.25U / 7U)
STEP 2. Product recognition check
After unboxing the product, connect the USB cable to the C- TYPE port and check if it can be recognized by VENOM.HOW. If it is not recognized, you may need to check the following
- Check if the USB cable is version 3.1 or higher and no longer than 2 meters.
- Check if it is directly connected to a desktop rear port that supports USB version 3.1 or higher, without a hub.
- If the symptoms persist after this, please post to the GEONWORKS Discord venom-user-forum channel and we'll help.
STEP 3. Firmware update
GO to VENOM.HOW and connect the keyboard.
Go to the 5th tab 'Settings' and click on 'Firmware Update.
After selecting the version, tap Enter Bootloader, connect the device, and then tap Start Update to proceed with the update.
Once the update is complete, you will return to the key mapping screen.
STEP 4. Switch settings
Go to VENOM.HOW , connect the PCB and access the Key Settings tab.
After selecting CHANGE SWITCH, choose the switch you are using.
STEP 5. Key input test
After accessing VENOM.HOW , connect the PCB and then go to the Key Test tab.
Using one HE switch, perform the test as shown in the video below.
STEP 6. RGB Check ( VENOM RGB PCB)
When connecting the USB cable, ensure that the LED lights up in all positions. If any LED is malfunctioning, do not assemble the device. Contact the seller for a replacement.
